Giovanni Scarpetta Diaz Named as Endorsing Artist for Conn-Selmer

Conn-Selmer, Inc is pleased to announce that Giovanni Scarpetta Diaz is a new addition to its Artist Endorsement Roster for C.G. Conn trombones. Professional musicians and instructors around the world endorse instruments from Conn-Selmer, including instruments by Bach, Selmer, C.G. Conn, King, Leblanc, Ludwig/Musser, and others.
Giovanni Scarpetta Diaz started his studies with his uncle, maestro Germán Díaz Guerrero and studied theory with his grandmother Luis María Díaz Almeciga at the Music School for the Symphonic Youth Orchestra of Colombia, where he spent seven years as principal trombone player. In 1992, 1997, 1999 and 2000 he was the winner of the youth interpretation contest “Roberto Mantilla” administered by Colcultura, which later became the National Ministry of Culture for Colombia. In 1997 he was also the winner of the series “Monday of Young Interpreters” of Bank of the Republic (Library Luis Ángel Arango). In 1996 and 1999 he won the youth interpretation contest of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogota (Colombia).
He has performed as soloist with the Symphonic Orchestra of Colombia, Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogota (Colombia), the Symphony of the Province of Santa Fe (Argentina), the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, the Symphony Orchestra of Antioquia (Colombia) and the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Caldas (Colombia). Since 2003 he performs as Soloist and Principal Trombone of the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, and currently continues in that esteemed position.
